FamilyI have now been married for over ten years to my wonderful wife Anna, having first met in 2002. We met online on a now-defunct diary website in the days before Internet dating was a thing. Despite having done my best to annoy her over the last ten years she's still sticking around, and we have three amazing children - Nicky, Kitty and Rory.
As you can tell from the picture on the home page, I am a cyclist - I love clocking up kilometres
on the road, and have completed several sportives including the inaugural RideLondon
. I also enjoy cycling with the kids (my secret plan is to train them up into road cyclists so I have an excuse to go cycling more!) I'm also a big fan of professional cycling. I keep a dedicated cycling blog
and have profiles on various cycling social media sites such as Strava
Reading has played a very important part in my life. I don't get much time these days to sit with a book (or Kindle) but I still try to read as much as possible. For a long time I was working my way through the BBC Big Read Top 100
- it took me many years but I finally managed it! I've also had Marvel Unlimited for a couple of years and have worked my way through various comic events. My favourite authors are Douglas Adams, George Orwell and Terry Pratchett. I have a Goodreads
profile where I keep track of what I've been reading.
Video GamesI've been playing games since I got my first computer (a BBC Micro B) aged 8 and had to type in the code myself. From there I've progressed via SNES, Megadrive, Gameboy, PS2, Xbox, Gamecube, Wii, DS, Xbox 360 to the PS3. Having kids means I'm behind the current generation and have only just got myself a PS3! My favourite games include The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, Life is Strange and the Metal Gear Solid series.
