The companies behind the Nexus 5 are doing a really bad job of keeping the details secret. A service manual has been leaked, as have screenshots showing the system specifications, which pretty much confirm what had already been guessed at. The Nexus 5 is essentially the same as the LG G2, and will feature the following:
- A 4.97″ screen with a resolution of 1080×1920 pixels – 442 pixels per inch
- 2 GB RAM
- 16 or 32 GB of storage
- A 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 CPU
- Adreno 300 GPU
- 8 megapixel camera, most likely with optical image stabilisation
The Nexus 5 will launch with Android 4.4, also known as KitKat – the release date is rumoured to be 14th November. Prices will probably be similar to those of the Nexus 4 – $299 for the 16 GB option and $399 for the 32 GB option.
I look forward to seeing the confirmed device – I’m very tempted to get one!
